and Thanks for the welcome, I am ex Cunarder Started in the M.N experience in Liverpool , One year at Dicky Bonds , Training school for ships cooks and stewards, Liverpool,then Reina del mar on her first year running to france ,spain,cuba, west Indies, Panama canal, columbia, west coast. south America to chillie,
then Cunard as boy cook/student cook .Pathia/NY, Brittanic, N.Y/out of Lpool , Queens, out of Southhampton,N.Y/Caronia cruising about three years. Larder work, 61/63. Royal Mail. Andes 65/69 Lader cook.finishing up Franconia out of N.Y to Bermuda 69/.
I emigratedto Aust in my 30s and did a futher 27 years on the Australin coast cargo /general ro/ro steel.Gulf tankers in gulf war, Gas pipe ln west australia Sea going tug work,Korea,Japan,Singapore finished up 2002
any one out there wants a chat get in touch, there are lots I often think of from that great time in my sea going life,only remembering the good naturaly greatings

Welcome to our happy ship Robert.I envy you your long career ar sea.I only did 8 years before settling in Melbourne. I have a feeling you must have bumped into an old shipmate of mine resident in Perth. He too was ship's cook on the Aussie coast until retirement. His name is Bernie Myers and we go back to the early 60's with Port Line. Cheers mate Neil.
