Harrison Line - Norman Crawford

Just found my late Dad's British Seaman's Card and Seaman's Record book and started to look on-line for some information about the ship's he served on and came across this site.
I haven't really had a good look through the forum yet but I certainly will be doing so.
If anyone remembers my Dad it would be great to hear from you.
His name was Norman Crawford and he joined the Merchant Navy in 1952 at the age of 18.
He usually sailed from Liverpool and he was a Bosun when he left in 1970.
I only remember he worked for Harrison line but I've also found papers re M.V. Degema.
I do remember lots of postcards and presents from distant shores.

The DEGEMA was an Elder Dempster Line ship on the Liverpool West Africa trade.

Thanks for that. I've also got an old photo of the ship dated 1959 with Dublin, Ireland printed across it.
I think I'll start my research journey here it looks like I should be able to find some info on the Degema.
