Sailed on the Ngahere, or the Ngakuta with China Joe Stevens, and on the Maori and and I think it was the Hobart with Capt Andy Keyworth, who was a true gent.

Here is a photo I took from the Burns Philp store of the Tofua at anchor at Alofa, Niue 1965. Based in Suva for many years after going ashore I travelled on the Tofua around the traps when available in preference to the old DC3s of Polynesian Airways (one which lay in a heap at Apia for years!).
In the late forties I worked by in Sydney on the old Wahine.
