Has anyone noticed.
Or is it just me, there seems to be a sharp increase in the number of commercial breaks on the commercial tv stations. Plus the short period between each
one and an increase in the number of such. Try as one may to just change channels you arrive at another station with similar commercials, is this collusion
between the stations ? Is there no law saying the maximum number of minutes in every hour can be used to promote the general brain washing of the population. If not then the at the moment the present sparring of opposing would be governments in Australia should drop their own advertising which in itself is a mockery to good government and consists mostly of bribes to the general populance . If any government brought in a proper active deterrent to this above normal media advertisement they would get my vote whatever party it was. JS

Re: Has anyone noticed.
Hi John
There was ONCE a time limit on adds going to air, I think legislated, but not sure, but things just drift and as it is a business world these days no one does anything about it. Other than the News which is slanted depending which station one watches they are all the same bullsh&t.
which one has to sort out depending on their point of view.

Re: Has anyone noticed.
Since we came here in 1980 there sure has been an increase in Commercials , the time Limits have increased as well, and if you sit and watch a show , like i have done and use your Watch, (This i have done myself) non most Channels Free to Air you get so many minutes of Show, and so many minutes of Commercials! The Commercial's outdo the Showtime . This is most annoying, and i cannot get over how things have changed so much!
Thank goodness for Foxtel, at least we can watch a Show in peace without these adds all the time.
But having said hat at times Foxtel too has them. Oh the Joys of TV. lol

Re: Has anyone noticed.
Also re advertising all parties competing for government should have equal time . This is certainly not the case. Even the at present the main two parties the resident party in government exceeds the other. It’s all BS. In any case , the present pm his high falsetto voice always reminds me of a whining old woman, his voice alone detracts me from what he is whining about. He made his biggest boomer when he tried to swamp the parliament with the original people of this country, what a farce. That alone would put most people off his intelligence department. JS.

Re: Has anyone noticed.
Do not watch that much free to air.
Watch the 6 pm comedy show, news they call it, then switch at 6.30 to SBS for the doom and gloom show.
As to regular progs, very few worth watching, why does the bloody farmer want a wife, and who gets married at first sight???
Thankfully we have paid TV as well as two very good free to air with 'TUBI" and 'TCL'.
As to advertising, that is only somewhere to watch while you wait for the next five minute section of the prog you have lost the plot on because the bloody adds take so much time.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Has anyone noticed.
Same here in the UK, the telly is mostly crap. Adverts go on for five minute or more sometimes and the programs are mostly rubbish. I think it's going that way to get rid of "freeview" telly, so we have to pay to watch anything at all. I notice the films available to watch are the same ones, but on different channels each day.
Like everything else, we will have to pay for every single thing we do in future. It's our money, but the fatcats want it.

Re: Has anyone noticed.
siiimples, just record the programme you want to watch, then watch it an hour later (or at your leisure) and fast forward when you come to the adverts and you have a continuous plot, so your 60 minute programme becomes a 40 minute view

Re: Has anyone noticed.
Your 60 minutes here would be about 25 minutes Ivan , I kid you not . If they charged a tv licence here no one would bother watching at all . They repeat the same show in some days on 2 consecutive days. Probably their excuse if charged would be some may of missed the original .,was more exciting on days of old playing snakes and ladders for enjoyment.,the bad dialogue especially on US shows gets up my nose by the loud what they call music making what the so called actors are saying hard to translate to English if I was to give marks out of 10 they would get 2 minus from me. Never mind Oscar’s . JS
