Rules are rules
How's this for a game of soldiers ; The Dutch queen has been subject to much criticism for her continued involvement with the World Economic Forum and the Central
European bank pushing for European digital currency whereas being a royal she has no remit to do so.
One answer she has given to the critics in defending her involvment is " I didn't make the rules ".
Could this be the perfect defence when - for example " one is caught for speeding and questioned by the polis why one was driving over the speed limit ,
but officer , I didn't make the rules . Would this work ? , what do you all think ?.

Re: Rules are rules
Royalty is true does not make the rules , they are made by ones Peers in Parliament. Although not making the rules she is subject to them , and probably signed off on them to make them legal as of old customs and maintain the system of government. If the same as British legislation when one is presented with an official medal or award it does not come from the Palace it comes from the PM of the country. The only awards directly from Royalty is their own chosen personal awards , but believe these also have to go through the PMs office. Is the way most people see it myself included. JS

Re: Rules are rules
Since I was a mall boy I have always been taught that it is one rule for us and a different rule for them, them being whoever is in charge at the time.; A prime example is the prince of sex who though proven to have had sex with a minor, [They paid her out} he wasn't jailed as others where.

Re: Rules are rules
Rules are rules for all to live by.
But it appears from info put out by various media sections this does not apply to any member of any gov.
They bend, amend and break the very rules they made to suit their personal situation at the time.
But some times it does not work.
We had a neighbor flew helicopters during Vietnam war.
He then gained a position as a flyer for the Police.
On a number of occasions pulled over for speeding, then show his permit and no ticket given.
But one day caught by a speed camera and no way out, had to pay up.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.
