Default The race to the bottom

good evening to all of the net zero and stop oil zealots, and possibly interesting for others whom just dont believe the nonsense about net zero, well i have just been watching a piece about two coal powered stations in nottinghamshire that had to be kicked into life today to meet the demands of electricity use, why you may ask, well it seems that the solar panels cannot work properly in anything above twenty five degrees centigrade and they actually loose o.5 degrees heat loss, the wind power today was no help as there was no wind,

    Hi Thomas.
Glad it wasn't down here as it has been down to 7 below a few nights but mostly 3 below. But I must admit our winter so far during the day has been good, lovely sunshine, thanks to the warm air coming from the Pacific. A funny thing is that flocks of Major Mitchel cockatoos are flocking back to Town never seen that before, even the sparrows haven't left. But hey, it's nothing to do with Global warming just a warm winter.

Here in Oz our minister for ' fixing the renewable power to suit tells us that by 2035 we will be 100% on renewables.
That is fine, so what he is saying is we will only be able to use power for half the day.

A report from the Global Climate Committee said they do not think any nation will be able to be 100% renewable, there has to be some other source as well.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Well so much for renewable energy, there are reports of some solar panels melting in the sun, must have got them from 'Del Boy' seem to work okay in Saudi heat. Land based wind farms are grinding to a halt as there is no wind on shore. Nottingham area is re-commissioning two coal fields to make up the energy shortfall.

sorry Ivan, degrees C. Been back down today 24c at home, 19.5c at Mill Dam S. Shields. Called in to see an old mate (retd C/E ex Swires) has got dementia, he is doing ok but its progressed quite a bit over last couple months, lost his wife to it earlier this year. Certainly straightens me out to see him like that.
