I have been involved in genealogy for years and have traced my family history back to before 1066 on my mother side, and a five hundred years on my fathers. I started back before computers made it easier. I had a clue on great-great grandparents buried in Walthamstow, London cemetery. I was going to London on business and stayed an extra day and tubed and bused my way to Walthamstow and in the downpouring rain in mid winter, managed to find the cemetery. I had the grave plot number, but it still took a bit of time to find the grave, only to find on the gravestone that the engraving said, "Mum and Dad." To use an English expression..."We were not amused."

Colin you hit it spot on.
If the problems have not been fixed by now with all the money spent on the subject, all the Mp's and committees over the years I do not see how the Voice will make any difference.

Can see that you also see the merit in tracing family trees through the female line as it is only their word as to who sired the baby lol. Even that can be doubtful with them as well

Spot on Les, many a young child was taken from the unmarried mother soon after birth never to see them again.

Then in some societies for similar reasons the birth was never recorded.
Try tracing the family tree in Ireland and see what mysteries you will find.

I'm not religious and I can't believe all the bull dust, especially when you read the history of religious practices concerning small children in ALL religious practices, terrible behaviour by grown men, talk about suffer little children. Sick.

Bit in the news today about a man of Asian descent who fathered some 62 kids by sperm donation.
It was discovered when a large group of mothers with their sons met for a meeting of such persons.
Apparently the kids all look very similar.
It is illegal for private donations of such here in Victoria, all must be done through the correct process controlled by the health department.

How many of us still expect a knock on the door and someone saying that I am their father. I am sure that is very possible and such make sure that I have told the sheriff that this could happen just in case. First step would be the old DNA test to put both of our minds at ease for sure
