Fancy owning a superyacht?
So you've made your first billion or so and you fancy a life on the ocean waves? We'll think again, apart from the actual cost there are huge running costs to factor in.

Re: Fancy owning a superyacht?
He estimates that a 150-foot superyacht will cost around $2 million a year or roughly $200,000 a week to run. Having read the article the individual is not very good at maths $2million a year works out @ $38,462 a week rounded up.
Crew wages do not come cheap. An experience captain of a vessel measuring 150 feet could earn up to $192,000 a year, while a deckhand might be on a salary of $34,500.
Best salary pay scale I found was €16,000 a month and that was for an 80 metre + superyacht, Chief Engineer was €14,000 a month again 80 metre + The Chef was on a decent wedge €7,500+

One thing missing in that report is the fact that the people who can afford that kind of yacht, would have ongoing income at the same level as at the time they purchased it. A bit like me going up for petrol for my car.
