TV last night
Channel 5 had an excellent programme Draining the Oceans: Hitler's U Boats.
The programme was about the Nazis developed their war advancement programme, with one excellent under water footage.
The really big surprise was the development of the stealth Uboat.
The Uboats were getting pounded by the Allies and Hitler's scientists had to come with an idea which could protect the subs from sonar detection.
U240 was the first and was a success, she entered the English Channel, sank 4ships in five days and the Allies could not detect her.
The UK dropped magnetic mines, informed all shipping not to enter the area, it was a successU240 hit a mine and was destroyed.
Divers have recently discovered he wreck, and she is clad in specially designed rubber pads that absorb the soar signals.
So was U240 the first stealth sub.
Prog available on catch up, worth watching, another episode next week
