Things I have learnt this week
1. A sitting Australian politician has been banned from office as he has dual citizenship. Only Aus. nationals can be elected to Parliament, amazing the guy did not read the rules before standing for election.
2. After 300 complaints by persons travelling on the London Underground regarding a poster showing a trim young lady advertising a health supplement, the Advertising Standards Authority in the U.K. has now ruled all advertisements must be gender neutral. 300 complaints from the millions who use the ube!!!! WTF
3. The dismantling of the Costa Concordia has been completed bringing an end to its sorry history
4. France finance minister has demanded that the U.K. pay 115 billion Brexit exit fee as compo for all the things we signed up for..WTF
We should be charging THEM for all that we have contributed too over the years
5. North sea cod has now been classified as sustainable fish as its stocks re recovering, pity due to E.U. regs. we have very few trawlers capable of catching and landing them at U.K. ports.

7. London Transport announced that Ladies and Gentlemen would be dropped from announcements as they did not want to offend Transgender People. Will they drop Trans from Transport?
8. Germany believes the EU Commission wants to punish the UK in order to deter other countries leaving the EU.
There must be more.
Regards
Vic

Re: Things I have learnt this week
It really is time to stop worrying about who we offend , only civil rights lawyers and self publicists actually care . When in hospital a guy of Caribbean descent told me 30,000,000 Africans died during the slave trade , incidentally Britain as the first country to impose a ban lead the World . and WE should apologise . there is a limit to what I can apologise for .

John #1, not one oz poli but two have come unstuck with this one.
They are here to manage the country but cannot even manage themselves.
Birth certificates and passports have city of birth on them. But of course you have to have a degree of inteligence to now that.
We had the poster FCUK, which had been up for years.
then some guy, obviously dyslexic complained that it was rude and offensive so it was taken down.
Now the company is suing for compensation saying that it is a global company and no one else has complained.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Things I have learnt this week
I see we are starting once again to get some of the flak on TVs screens about the cost of coming out of Europe for the U.K. All things being equal it should by rights be all the politicians who advocated for any signing of any agreements putting the British people in this predicament. They had the nerve and the presumption to take this decision for others without others knowing what they were signing. They should now put all of any wealth they possess back into the pot to pay the piper. There should be many millions of pounds available stashed away in foreign banks, going back to the early days of them signing away people's rights. Maybe a start could be made with Bliar a strong advocate of being part of Europe and only too willing to sign the autograph book for his admirers, not so willing maybe of signing his personal cheque book. Heath or his descendants if he has any could also dip in. JWS
