101-year-old D-Day veteran breaks tandem skydive record
Though it did get me thinking about all those people who on the yearly holiday from work, go bungee jumping, shark watching, extreme mounting biking and all sorts of hard physical and at times dangerous pastimes. Surely having flogged your guts out for 50 weeks at work a fortnight in the sun, lounging by the pool and drinking cold beer then sampling new dining delights, is what you need, not to toss yourself out an aeroplane with only a bit of silk to prevent you from crashing to the ground, or throwing yourself off a high bridge with only an elastic band tied to your ankles to prevent you hitting the ground at speed and as for mountain biking on holiday, sweating ********, getting covered in mud and risking injury is not my view of a great holiday, or am I just a lazy slob who likes lying in the sun, drinking cold beer and enjoying great food when we take our annual holiday?
