    Default Britains historical islands

On BBC4 tonight at 2100 hrs is the above program, with visits to interesting Islands all over the world, wild life and local people, including Pitcairn, and many other islands that many of us have travelled to in past years. Could be interesting to see the change, or not as the case may be, kt

Keith, I just wish we could view here. I have been to many and regret that I did not see them all. We had a good deckie bloke from the Falklands on one ship and always would have liked to visit Stanley. Maybe we will get the programme some time in the future.

With regard to the Falklands, about 4 years ago I spent Xmas in a pub in the Cotswolds, very nice pub, log fires, good food, there were only two other guests staying, a guy from the Falklands and his wife, Jesus , could he drink, he drank a bottle of wine while I was drinking a pint of bitter, he must have drunk 3 bottles over the Xmas dinner period alone. He was an accountant in the Falklands, and was telling me most people were bored to tears there, consequently the only past time was boozing. His wife was lovely, and only drank fruit juice, kt

Well Keith, someone had to hold the torch steady on the way home.

He obviously had a very sensible approach to life, professional drinkers are like that.
