Re: Tony Abbott and the Last Crusade
Marian, it all depends on what you support. TA is a good human being that removed some of the rubbish that had accumulated and started to regenerate some of the squandered wealth by the previous incumbents. He has for his efforts suffered immense ridicule by those whose intelligence does not extend beyond corrupt pursuits. Unfortunately democracies are subjected to the incompetence of elected leaders who rarely have the know how of running a business, let alone the most important business of the country.
The frightening alternative of dictatorship leaves us with very little choice. My admiration for Lee Kwan Yew of Singapore as one who broke the chain is great.

Re: Tony Abbott and the Last Crusade
TAs appearance and personality apparently lead to his down fall. His personality and appearance meant nothing to myself as was just another Aussie guy ( although born in the UK I believe). The guy who was put in charge of stopping the boats and is now Treasurer, his replacement was interviewed by one of these left wing harridans we have on TV out here and the venom was barely hidden when talking about the Manus Island Detention centre. I would never have made a politician as if had been a man there would have been two options with me, I would of stood up and walked out, or broken his nose. The ABC is once more coming up to periscope depth and has its torpedos ready and probably filled with grape shot and nails to make sure of its target. Tony Abbot regardless of what one thought about him was as straight as you will ever get a bent politician. A journalist"s job is to report especially one employed by the tax payer. It is not a soap box for their own political agenda which seems to get more prominent especially in times of various crisis"s. Tony Abbot of whatever political persuasion did Australia an extremely good turn by stopping the boats and having thousands of maybe would be terrorists in years to come, prevention is the best cure. Re: Tony Abbott and the Last Crusade
The problem with our Tony was that he was a catholic, and a good one at that, but not such a good communicator. His policies are being kept but the new leader Turncoat and, they are sound. His demise was brought about by murder by the media particularly the ABC which should as national broadcaster be neutral, but is so left wing it will one day meet itself on the way back.
He was maybe one of the very few honest politicians who I have no doubt because of his beliefs could find I hard to lie.
