    Default Latest Gadgets

Whilst browsing in Tesco's the other day, I spotted the latest gadget on offer, a light bulb, not just any light bulb, bulb that you could switch on and off using your mobile phone. The advertising blurb was about how you could fool people by making them think your home was occupied when it was empty whilst you were on holiday.
Seemed like a good idea, then I spotted the cost wait for it----------------------------------------------------------------
    £30 for a lamp.
    You must be joking

My son (an IT anarak) has the best system i have seen, he has a couple of cameras rigged in the house, very small, if there is movement inside the house it automatically calls his iphone, he can then look at the cameras on his phone. No alarms are ringing, if he sees someone in the house, he phones the police direct. Weak part of the system is if the police deem to attend, not a forgone conclusion these days it seems. kt

Devon and Cornwall police only attend to incidents at houses with odd numbers (true!) as they say their budget doesn't allow them to respond to every call, publicised in the local paper (and no doubt on the internet). They seem to have forgotten that burglars can also read! who will be laughing all the way to the Fence/Pub. Unfortunately I live at #10 (not Downing Street)

Suggest only odd numbered houses pay the Police precept.
