Words of wisdom.....
From your existence on this plain, life, what at this moment in time would you pass on as a piece of advice to your fellow human being?
My flippant one would be, look after number one and make sure you don't stand on number twos.
Your reply can be flippant or serious, all welcomed

Re: Words of wisdom.....
To those bringing up kids, "Don't do as I do, do as I say". Or "sit there and speak when your spoken to." " Children should be seen and not heard." " Sit there and wait until everyone else has finished". "Wait till your father gets home", for those with fathers at sea had a long wait. Advice which will never be taken by the modern day parent. Most would be aghast at the old saying spare the rod and spoil the child. JS. Cappys favourite, " A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" just to bring back memories of his love affair with the Emu he befriended whilst on the run from the law Down Under. JS

Re: Words of wisdom.....
#4 'Wait till your father gets home' was no use in our house John, as they knew he would hit them with a mars bar
Probably quite a few here may not agree but decided early on never to smack, never mind hit our children. Yes patience was needed but they were chastised and explained to why their behaviour was naughty or unacceptable from as young as three. Never had a problem with any of them I did have "a look" though which stopped them crossing the line. Of course they often referred to the eyes in the back of my head for a long time!

Re: Words of wisdom.....
The other day Sharon asked me if she could ask me some questions about her homework. She's in remedial classes because she missed so much schooling in Lae before I rescued her off the streets. I told her never to be scared to ask me questions, and I'd answer whatever I can. But, like everyone else in this world, I don't know everything. Then I gave her MY words of wisdom:-
"The day you stop learning is the day you start to die."
