This is kind of nostalgia to watch as it takes us back to the 50's.

The guy is more fun to watch than the gal as he is "loose as a goose."

He's 17 and she's only 15. But together, they won the 2012 Junior
Division National Carolina Shag Dancing Championships.,

Memories are made of that Marian. For me it began at the local youth club where you soon found a compatible partner that could match you step by step, then on to the local Palaise de Dance, mine was in South Wimbledon. There is one ship in particular I recall when I think of a happy crew. It was Federal's Huntingdon, all the deck and catering boys were of an age 16/18 and boy could we dance. All around the Kiwi coast where there was a dance hall we pounced and showed the locals how it was done. Rock and Roll was at it's height at home and some of us had records which we would take ashore, the locals did not know what hit 'em. Ha Ha ! Oh them Kiwi girls lapped it up.

Marian, a Shag dance is an odd term and conjours up all manner of ideas. I wonder is it the same as a knee trembler???????LOL

Yup seen it before and she is a superb dancer also, although he appears as the artist, the silent partner (usually the man) has to keep on beat whilst waiting to join back in the fancy moves and that can sometimes be harder than the fancy moves, but both great movers

Tell you what, they wouldn't be laughing at those 'big' guys who do it in the States, nowadays line dancing is done to all kinds of music, mostly country and Western in USA but Latin American (very fast) nearly everywhere else, people may take the mick out of line dancers but the shortest sequence is 16 steps, doesn't happen in any other dance.
