    Default What is old age

Having spent some 14 years in the University system working with students from 18 to about 22 I found that a young outlook on life helped to understand the students.
Now some 14 years later I still think as a young person, I am a 16 year old with some 55 years experience and look at life that way. I only wear shoes when I go out, garden and house barefoot all year, and normaly shorts and short sleeved shirts and jumpers unless going out at night in winter.
I still attempt many things that at my age I am told I should not do, going up a 60 foot gum tree to prune it is one.
Now I find I am constatly told by others, including her inddoors, to 'act my age'.
If I do that there is a good chance I will become an 'old fart' if I do that and that is something I do not want to become.
Life should be fun, not a question of only doing things according to age.
Right now I feel like a year old, no hair, no teeth but thankfully i do not piss my pants................well not yet.
    How do you stay young?
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.

Think young, some people think that being old is a badge of honour and want to be old before their time. Mix with the young, we had dinner last night with friends in their 20's and 30's, we were born before their parents were born, but they still invite us to join them and a good time is had by all, we all bring different experiences to the table and learn from each other. Keep active (if possible), we dance, dancing uses every limb in the body, whether it be rock n roll, salsa. waltz, rumba, quick step etc and sure beats jogging, can't jog with a woman in your arms. I did say jog not jig! for you old Africa hands.

Hmm, sounds like you're campaigning for a job on Strictly, Ivan.

Only for the money John, only for the money! I mean who in their right mind would want to hold one of those lovelies (the female ones) in his arms, I'll leave the others for the UCL boys.

#5- careful Jim, I think the only ones interested in a 10 from Len might be one of the aforementioned ex catering crew of UCL.

Think young. My 2 best friends are 20 years younger than me and were 20 when we became friends.they are now 60 and I am 80.One of them is following my lead and is pals with my son who is 20 years younger than him.As an aside this pal is proud of the fact that has a bus pass(which he has never used)and a motorcycle competition licence.
keeping on this vein my wife(2nd)is 26 years younger than me.We have been together since I was 60 and she was 34.She keeps me young.
