After all this time they have sent in the Army, we would welcome the Navy this way.
Being in Oxfordshire, we are in just as bad a way, not as bad as most, like being trapped on an island, with roads and bridges closed, we have had no help from the out side world, council is doing nothing but close roads, and bridges, means a 30ml round trip, to go 1.1/2mls to get a cross the Thames at Culham, We have Harwell, one side, and Culham Labs the other, which means 1000s of extra cars trying to go thru Abingdon, both ways, at peak times, Cam the Con, said Money was no object at this time. then a few days later backed off, because it was taken has a done deed, he promise 1.3 million, to help, but only a few weeks ago, he pledged 6.5 million to Syria, never mind us, WE/US will pay for the whole bloody lot, one way or another. has soon as London was under threat, out come the money bag, and 100s of troops suddenly appeared, wear as a few lorry loads went to the west country, 5.000 has been pledged to big house's along the Thames, to repair damaged gardens, and walls, most if not all, are big money men, ie Bankers. I have cruised the Thames for a few years, and take it from me, there are NOT many small houses on the banks. rant over:mad::mad:

Ray, I feel for you guys down there and the weather experts tell us this could go on for months yet. One major concern now has to be peoples health issues its not just the rain and swollen river banks, The water table is also rising by the day bringing up sewage with it. Lord knows what bacteria is mixing in the floods. That's another thing I haven't heard any ministers bring up. If it was Bangladesh !!!!!!!!!!!!! That's one of the first things as in aid that would be considered. Are we all immune to these diseases because we are brits and what about our live stock and farmers crops will they be edible in a few weeks there are far reaching implications for the home counties and the rest of the country I think this government need to pull its socks up and quick stop any overseas aid for the next few years and let charity begin at home I wish you all well Regards Terry.
