    Default Tug Conversion

    Hi,
Just got a book out of the local libarary titled From Salvage Tug To Super Yacht.
The author is English, grew up in Hant, and writes for Yachting Mag's,.
My understanding of what a yacht is,is something with masts and sails, not a deepsea salvage tug converted to a great looking motor cruiser.
In my doteage things like that get right on my wick,
    Rant over!!,

You are correct in considering sails to be a component of a yacht. But what about the Royal Yacht Britania? The term is used for many craft used for pleasure, not ust sailing.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Default Salvage Tug.

    Hi John,
The tug in question was ex Simpson of Bugsier Co. of Hamburg. The book says she was converted in Malta '93/94 for oneJack Sutton,Lone Ranger, her present name, is owned by Peter B. Lewis.

As a deep sea salvage tug she she rally was a piece of work, good really that she is still going strong after all these years.
