Study
At the tender age of 76 and having bought a bigger motor boat , I've decided to sit for the Dutch marifoon ( VHF ) certificate.
It's not compulsary but will contribute to safety on the water. Trouble is that I find the lessons go right through my head
without staying too long. I've done all my tickets ( up to Master FG in 1973 ) all the usual courses - restricted RT , radar etc. but I feel
like a young kid in kindergarten. Nothing sticks , mind wanders , can't concentrate. Exam in 15 june but am getting pretty
worried. What happens if i fail what ( for us ) should be a simple exam ?.

You'll be fine John, you're still young, try word association or acronyms as an aid to memory, works for me, my favourite is Sh*t an acronym for Should Have ? Today, but have forgotten what the 'i' stands for!, didn't say it was a foolproof system

AS long as you can say 'Hello Scheveningen Radio' (preferably 'radio' with two 'a's) and pronounce it correctly, you'll get through, the Germans never could in WWII

That would be fine except for the fact that I've been told Scheveningen closed down around 1998 .

Half the small boat guys around here don't even bother, and lot of them don't know the rules of the road either (usually the ones with flashy cruisers).
