    Default Memories

Big River. Based on the Tyne, but could be any industrial towns and rivers of bygone days

JUST SHOWED THIS TO HER INDOORS,

Being a Geordie and away from her Wallsend / Newcastle home, she was quite emotional.

    Thanks K.

Great clip thta one, brings back some great memories. My G.F. and G.G.F. were from Sunderland as as a young lad I used to go there for the summer. Often taken down to see ships being launched or to watch the ship building from a little distance. So sadly all those wonderful times are now gone as is most of the U.K. ship building.

That brought back some memories.I spent a year in a Stevie Clarke collier.I was the only one who wasn't a Geordie. I enjoyed every minute of it. Learned what a great crowd Geordies are. Made a lot of friends up there, lost contact long ago unfortunately PS.I also learned a lot about good beer.

I spoke to a very old man in a pub in Newcastle years ago, he was convinced that kaiser bill and hitler were the two greatest men that ever lived, I asked him why, he said they were the only men who ever brought work to Tyneside.
