Hi Mick!
Hello Mick,
Just to verify something, are you talking Royal Navy or Merchant Navy?
It can be confusing not knowing what you are seeking! But i take it its Royal Navy? However
There was a Ship (Tanker) British Explorer in Hobart 4th Nov 1957. I am putting this in but there must have been plenty of Ships during the period you state,so it would be almost impossible i fear to get a full list of ships in Hrabour during the periods you talk of!
And even if it was possible then to get all the Crew lists would agin pose a huge problem, can you imagine the enormity of such a task!
And seemingly not actually knowing a name, well where would one start!
I am very sorry to sound so negative on this Mick, but you have left a gigantic task for us all i fear!
If by some stroke of luck someone should remember him by the name you have given, then that would be a small miracle!
I do however honestly hope that some way or some day you will find what you are searching for!
All the very best in your plight Mick, and may you have the luck of the Gods with you!
Cheers
HMAS Melbourne was in Hobart in 1957 as well!

Hello Mick,
I am afraid Royal Navy ships don't keep crew lists in the same way that the MN do.
You really need to get his full name, dob etc and apply for his service record.
Regards
Hugh
