Old ships that my late father served on.
Hi all.
I am trying to find out, which ships my late father
Served on, but don't know where to start.
I want to find the ship's emblems, to put on his coffin
At his funeral, and also to try and find any of his
Surviving shipmates. Please help!!!

Re: Old ships that my late father served on.
Hello Stephen, Our condolences on the death of your father.
Can you give us his full name, date of birth and where he was born please. Any other details like rank, discharge numbers etc would be most helpful to those searching. Thank you. Marian

Re: Old ships that my late father served on.
As time is of the essence, we would need as much information as possible to try to assist.
Most Merchant Navy Association branches would have a Red Ensign coffin drape and could possibly loan this for the day, if not in use.
Our local branch would attempt also to have members in attendance and possibly a standard bearer.
Find Your Nearest Branch
To find a branch in your region, click on the appropriate number on the map or click on the name of the Branch for contact details.

Re: Old ships that my late father served on.
I know that it can be difficult for new members to possibly find threads posted.
It must also be a distressing time for Stephen, family and friends.
We could possibly assist, if there is further communication.
Just to let Stephen know, we can possibly help at another time if needed.
Our thoughts are with you and yours.
Keith.
