The first day
Hi all.
Never mind what sea school you went to or even if you went staright to sea I think this poem about the first day on the Vindicatrix, will fit all. Des
WITH TREMBLING LEGS AND BUM CLENCHED TIGHT
FROM THE TRAIN WE DID ALIGHT
A BOSUN'S MATE WITH TALES OF HELL
UPON US ALL HE CASTE A SPELL
WITH FALTERING STEPS WE REACHED THE GATE
SHORTLY WE WOULD KNOW OUR FATE
"GOT A FAG'? WHERE YOU FROM
THE SHOUTS CAME FROM THE GATHERING THRONG
THEN UP THE GANGWAY OF THIS SHIP
STUMBLING, SLIPPING WE DID TRIP
MUG OF COCOA , CHUNK OF BREAD
AND INTO THE DISTANCE STARED IN DREAD
WE WERE HERE FOR THREE MONTHS STAY
HOW MANY LADS DID THAT NIGHT PRAY
