Default Putin must be loving this

Putin must be really enjoying watching the US/Trump cause so much friction within NATO.
Now the nut job is saying he will want the Europeans to pay the US for the bombing raids on the Houtis in Yemen so that seaways can remain open. I wonder how much he will charge Israel as the Red sea and Gulf of Aden is a major trade route for them. Also will he charge the Egyptians as the revenues earned by the Suez Canal must be having an impact on the egyptian economy.
At least one thing he has achieved is get the Europeans to actually fund there own defence , that bit may not go well with Putin.
The continient of Europe needs to get be serious in the Arms buildup which will be required when Russia decides to make a move on European nations. Time to forget about NATO and form a European Armed forces collective. Also time for the UK to either become the 51st state or go all in with a European Defence force.

I wish some would give this Iron curtain rubbish away. The days of the old invasion are over, What is happening in the Ukraine is a jumped up Napoleon shredding an agreement singed by both the Ukraine and Russia when the Ukraine was given control of the Country, But a little Napoleon wanted to change that and tore up that agreement, it was similar to what Hitler did to what the Germans signed at Versailles in 1914
Ripping up the agreement, thus causing the second world war and millions of deaths. To follow the same trend would be to blame Britain for declaring war on Germany as the aggressor..

When Germany invaded Poland on trumped up charges, Britain had no choice as had a treaty with Poland, but to declare war on Germany , don’t think any other country did until they themselves were invaded themselves ,but stand to be corrected. Europe like of old today will not change its spots old habits of doing nothing but talk are hard to put to one side. In today’s world Britain should stand to one side and let others take any lead that has to be taken , they have too much to lose. The treaty of Versailles was not a very fair agreement but was written at the time by jubilant victors, most of whom did little to assist the allies in bringing it to a conclusion. Most of Europe would have sat back and let Germany have their way if the real truth was known and all the rememberance days is not going to alter the truth. America was drawn into the war by the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbour, otherwise they too would have sat on the sidelines as they now want to do again . Let Europe do what it does best squabble amongst themselves. JS

Germany began the invasion of Poland in 1936 when they took some 8900 persons to work on the land in Germany.

They had a plan to take over Poland in total but as we know the rest of the world di not like the concept, hence WW2.

But this trumped up Russian ex KGB thug thinks he can do as he likes.
Unless EU and NATO take a serious stand it could get very much worse, this could only be the beginning.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Des if no one else will say it but you have a very jaded outlook on what took place concerning the Ukraine/Russia. Ukraine agreed to relingush there Nuclear Weapons
The country formally agreed to give up its nuclear arsenal in exchange for security assurances in 1994. The Budapest Memorandum, signed by Ukraine, Russia, the United States, and the United Kingdom, committed the signatories to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Russia tore up or voided any treaty by the invasion of Crimea on February 2014.

President Zelensky was elected as President in 2019, a democratic election. Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. It is not Ukraine who are the agressor here.

Putin is winning here because of the clown in the White House. What has Putin got on Trump, sure as hell has something. Odd how 2 of his wives are from former Communist east european states!!!

It was Churchill who advised Truman when he wanted to divi up Berlin in 1945 that it would bring down an 'Iron Curtain' in Europe. I stand to be corrected but it was Reagan who first muted the Bamboo Curtain when talking to Margaret Thatcher
