What will be the reaction
Hezbollah threaten Cyprus if they allow Israel to use their airports.
Now if they did, it would be an attack on an EU member state and also a Commonwealth country.
Hezbollah are funded by Iran.
I would imagine if the IDF air force were to be using any air facilities in Cyprus it would likely be RAF Akroiti. Am I right when I say that RAF Akrotiri is classified as a British soverign state within the Republic of Cyprus?
Hezbollah was concieved by a bunch of slimus clerics in 1982 by followers of Ayatollah Khomeini.
Reason was supposed to be because of the Israeli invasion of Lebanon.

Re: What will be the reaction
All this will do is make a bad situation far worse.
Start to drag others such as EU or even UN into this conflict could lead to a far bigger war.
Factions such as HESBOLA, HAMAS and all the other such are just looking for an excuse to attack Israel.
As long as the current government rules in Israel the concept of further escalation in the situation is very real.

Re: What will be the reaction
There is not much either way which will appeal to both enemies either way, and what will be will be. Left as it stands it will ferment and continue as was. Best face up to the facts of life before further advancements of weapons of mass destruction appear on the scene in years to come. JS

Re: What will be the reaction
Why did Israel invade Lebanon!!!
Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982 to displace the PLO from along its border and to weaken or evict the PLO.
Also to impose Bachir Gemayel, head of the Christian Phalange party, as President of Lebanon in order to get Lebanon to sign a peace treaty with Israel and bring the country into Israel's sphere of influence. The invasion was code-named "Operation Pines" or "Peace for Galilee. The invasion was purportedly in retaliation for the attempted assassination of the Israeli Ambassador to England.
Copied this from Wiki .
So bye bye PLO hello Hamas , in Gaza. Hezbollah replaced the PLO in Lebanon. Hezbollah are sponsored by a nuclear power Iran.
Yep time to build a nuke bunker if you live out that part of the world.
They may well remove Hamas but who will replace them!!! A better organised group and better armed and trained.
To many people have died in Gaza now the damage is done there will never be peace in that region now.
Will young Israeli's want to live their lives always looking over their shoulders, doubt it.
