Memories
Hi All.
I hope this isn't considered a Political post, but Joe Biden's gaffs are getting a bit like mine, I went to see the Dr about getting my license health check, and I forgot what I was going to say to him, but we did sort it out. I think Biden introducing the second Che Guvera as President Putin was a ploy to get more publicity, mine was more to the point of the Dr may make a mistake and send off all correct on my eyesight, no such luck for both of us, but I thought a good try.

Re: Memories
I just went up for a second crack at it, but the Doc said no chance. I asked him not to put it in to the RTA as I was seeing the optometrist, {Liar} but I did go down and made an appointment, but my wife said that's no good your license doesn't run out until the end of the month and as I had made the appointment for tomorrow meant that they would have cancelled my license there and then. , so on the phone and said I would not be able to make it. looks like I have the rest of the month to drive and that's it.

Re: Memories
Just have to stay at home and drive the wife mad Des, commiserations , as of the 1st. August your life will change drastically. Tell me about it and can commiserate with you. If I could raise the energy would go and demand my licence back as was not really taken off me
Just wasn’t sent in the application that is , but as walking with a stick and classed as old would probably fail on something or other. Get your claim in for taxi vouchers via your doctor and make the baskets pay for the indignity. Don’t forget to keep to the left of the road when you get your electric scooter. Cheers JS

Re: Memories
Popped into town on Friday for a few items needed for the evening meal. Had a wander around then checked my transport app for my return journey. It’s a useful device and quite accurate and there was one due. Made my way to the appropriate stand and joined the queue for my bus. Unfortunately it was school knocking off time and I was in the middle of a human tsunami attempting to board the bus. Attempting to locate my concessionary bus pass to present to the driver, who just waved me through because of the crush, I was swept along the bus on a wave of noisy, sweaty adolescents and of course no offer of a seat for an elderly grey haired gentleman. It was then i experienced a’light bulb moment’. Felt in my pocket and discovered a bunch of keys. Yep. I had driven into town. Exiting that bus remains a blur but even back on terra firma it still took me a moment to remember where I’d parked the car. Upon my eventual return home I was greeted with ‘you were a long time dear’ yea, traffics really bad at school times. Re: Memories
You sound like a member of the fraternity John with passwords . When I was a practising member it was the one thing the wife couldn’t get out of me , just imagine a woman bursting into a meeting and saying get yourself home, your dinners on the table. Raised eyebrows all round. Just joking of course as no female would get past the other barriers .Cheers JS

Re: Memories
Well we have a good laugh on the way home John, was late leaving the Club the other night and it is always bad foggy sort of light down here in the winter, so there we were me knowing the road well; my wife pearing out the windscreen and saying are we on the right road, I said I hope so or we are gong to end up in Canberra. One thing I have found with age is if you don't laugh you will end up crying.

PS
Just went up the butchers, at least I didn't make a mistake and go t the Fish shop, also went to the Library, said to my wife, I got two large print books, my wife said good, then I discovered they are ones I had recently taken back LoL.

Re: Memories
Hi JC. Your post reminded me of an incident few years back. I was about to go upstairs, my wife asked me to get her pink cardy from the bedroom. Halfway up the stairs I forgot what she wanted. So, too embarrassed to ask what it was she asked me to do, I had a brainwave. I slowly walked backwards down the stairs, got to the bottom step and suddenly remembered. Nowadays, I find myself walking backwards down the stairs more and more frequently. It's an age thing.

Hi John, made me smile. A few weeks back popped up to my local Asda and it was busier than usual.. Couldn't get parked in my normal parking area and had to go to the opposite side of the car park. Did my shopping, came out, walked to 'my usual spot'; and promptly panicked, thinking someone had nicked my car. It took a long walk about before I spotted my car. I admit I did feel a bit foolish - it's an age thing. A pal suggested I attach some string to my car, then all I have to do is roll up the string as I meander back. I think he was joking !!
