The Uk currently has 7 immigration detention centres Government expenditure forcast is £6 billion. France has approx 23 immigration centres costing €4.5 billion, why is it costing the UK £6 billion, well I suppose someone has to get a slice of the pie

Re: channel crossings
James I considered you to be an educated man, but some of your comments put that in doubt.
Politics is all about who can get the best deal, it often includes countries we would rather not deal with, but for those at the top, with the most to gain, ethics go out the window.

Well John , Rest assured I have no opinion on how well educated you are yourself, others here though may have an opinion on that. It is the way the Mop Flops.

Re: channel crossings
Another classic. My son who is a middle school teacher in Delft was due to take a class of teenagers on a 3 day school visit to London.
They missed the ferry Hook of Holland to Harwich due to severe delays in processing entry permits for the students by UK border people
at the hook. Looks like illegals and asylum seekers have an easier time in getting into the old country.
