Looks like Capitalism has triumphed in this instance, and British and even foreign seafarers have lost out once again. I am so glad I went to sea during the dark days, but in our eyes the good old days, my sea time was enjoyable as I didn't worry about money.

Think you will find Des we were all a bit like that.
No worries when it came to cash, just work and a good time at the end of it.
Sadly the world has changed, the gap between haves and have nots widens daily, but the haves will not change that and the have nots very often do not have a voice to shout for them.
But then again when I look around the world at some countries one has to wonder why the people power is so low, they do nothing to help their situation .
