Hi John,
Few years back 1 appeared on the Bass Rock at the entrance to Firth of Forth. If memory serves me right stv/bbc news reported it at the time. The bass rock was always jam packed with gannets/gulls of all descriptions. Can only asume if it was a Albatross
hitched a ride through injury and took off in northern hemisphere when better. Regards Jim
Believe it was ward 47 in N.Tyneside. Always wondered how there were so many John Smiths living in the area. John Sabourn
That's easy Brian, sailors move around a lot. Didn't get down to 'das bordell' that was further down the road from the pub. Anyway, I only had a carton of cigarettes and a few Deutschmarks and beggars can't be choosers! The beer at the pub was excellent though.
Cheers,
Richard Q
Always loved the german run ashore, Hamburg was always my downfall . as previous post on loggings. Wonderful time 1960, approx 11.80 marks to the pound, 25 marks a night gave you everything you wanted, turning too in the morning was the hard bit!!!! KT
