    Still not many of them around. The females were good at the project work, not so good at the Mechanics and Electrics and about the same at the Mathematics.
    In engineering they had a problem with hand fitting and machine shop. Lacked strength for heavy work. I would not like to have seen them on a large bore Doxford.
    I had one female engineer candidate at South Shields and I will say no more. That was about 1989.
