    Fincantieri announce an order from Norwegian Lines for 4 cruise ships of approx. 226,000 tonnes each. Order value 9bn Euros.

    Big buggers, bit like the Royal Caribbean ones by the sound of it, 9000 plus bloods but restrictions in ports they can visit due to size.

    If only the Queen Mary 2 had been built in the UK as I believe Cunard had intended.

    Look at the majority of cruise ships and you will see most are made by that company to orders and designs of company ordering them.
    Spoke to a senior officer about that a couple of years ago.
    He told me that some companies only need to sail in certain parts, that accounts for the size of some.
    Others are made for a majority of waters

    It would probably still be under construction; I see the Glen Sannox is due for some "maintenance" according to the papers, after a month in service. According to them they are to replace the gypsy wheels on the anchor windlass?
