    Default Spirit of Tasmania IV

It seems that the Aussie are following Scotland in the purchase of new Ferries.
Spirit of Tasmania is £47m over budget.
She will be delivered to Leith where she will remain until 2026, berths and infrastructure will not be available to then.
Fears that she may have been damaged prompted her move to Leith, the cost her Berthing in Leith will be approx. £12m.

So typical of the way things are done in Australia today no due diligence done just some bureaucrat ordering and signed off by a politician neither having a clue what they are doing, new Sydney Harbour ferries are another example, all had to be completely overhauled in order to be compatible with operations.

Just to add insult to injury the ones in charge of the new terminal in Geelong, and having seen it say it is good, now say the berth is not long enough for the new ferries.
Similar in Tassie where they will dock.
But hey, gov and consultants did all this, what do you want, something correct!!!!!!!
    Happy daze John in Oz.

They have to waste your money on something John, it would be out of character otherwise.

Bit like the Spanish train fiasco, spent millions on new trains then found the were too big to go through the existing tunnels
