    Default Fly in Fly out

    JOhn.
A bloke has just bought some holiday cabins not to far from here. Name of Lloyd May, did 35 years as a chief Engineer on the oil rigs and taking ships up and down to East Asia on the fly in fly out system. The name ring a bell with you.

Is he originally from Tasmania ? JS

It was cheaper on rigs in Australia if rigs had thrusters on legs, to have engines taken out. So would be a chief with no injuns. JS

    Hi John.
He was born in Sydney, did his engineering training on Cockatoo Island, then was on Aus ships and rigs.

Must be a different bloke I was thinking of Des. I was on the old Cockatoo Creek a name which sticks in mind , she was renamed the Mermaid something or other. The bloke I was thinking of but can’t remember his name did terms also lecturing at Launceston college, was in to motor bikes and real happy go lucky. A typical Oz. Cheers JS

Knew a second chef on a UCL ship.
Always cut the buttons off his check pants.
Said he never wanted to miss a chance.
Sort of fly in fly out.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
