Poole to Morocco
The daily papers have printed the story of the success of the new trade route, direct by ship, bringing in goods from Morocco, journey time by sea is 3 days for fresh produce, versus 6 days by road, with EU inspections etc at the channel ports, so looks to be win win. This article is from when the first ship arrived in Poole.

Re: Poole to Morocco
Keith why would they need EU inspections at Channel ports if it is a direct service from Morocco to UK, as far as I am aware Morocco is not in the EU, but stand to be corrected

Re: Poole to Morocco
Ivan, does the link not open for you ?, the transport by ship, cuts out the route by lorry through the EU, and comes directly to Poole, hence no EU customs checks,

Keith my apologies, I misread your post, my fault entirely as your post was very clear, must be something to do with the 1930's!! the era in which I was born, better known as old age!

Re: Poole to Morocco
One assumes it is the Poole in Dorset and not the one we went to in London!!
But it sounds good, from Morocco, does it come with the dance of the seven veils??

Re: Poole to Morocco
Agree, to me any mention of the 'Pool' means just upstream from Tower Bridge. But then, I went to school at the corner of Tooley Street and Tower Bridge Road. It is now a 5 star Indian hotel. Will have to go and stay so can legally sleep at school.
