Raft that saved many lives in WW2
This appeared in our local paper yesterday. The inventor wanted a raft that could be easily launched, could withstand being shot at and protect its occupants from suffering from the effects of cold seawater.

Re: Raft that saved many lives in WW2
Hi John.
I can't get it up as it is a Google article and they no longer cover my Comp.
But I remember when this site first started there was a picture of a bloke looked like a fireman standing on a small life raft holding onto a pole with a bit of rag on it, I think it was said to have been taken by the U-boat, for the life of me I cannot find it on here. no one knew if he survived.
Cheers des
