the coaster carrick
i have come across a video on u tube of a passage on a coaster ...it was almst like being at sea again ...really worth watching ....googleTHE COASTER CARRICK ...A PASSAGE TO WISBECH ......a great little craft and crew will give old coaster men a big emotion regards cappy:thumb_

Very good film Cappy.
A very posh version of the old Beechfield I was on as a Coal Burning Fireman in 1952.

Ah! those domino hatchboards, we never needed a gym!
Not that we needed a gym deep sea either with 18 derricks and 36 guys (not men Marian!) to adjust and preventers to unkink

Enjoyed the nostalgia there Cappy, the only thing I recall. Was long hours and not time to shave or Dhabi at sea, those guys all looked too smart and clean, 4 on 4 off at sea, if you were lucky, boots off and in the pit, or perhaps I just sailed with a manly crew? . Those hatch boards were bloody heavy as I recall, struggle to lift one now, kt

yes keith it alwayseemed more scruffy than that ...but i suppose we must remember they probably thought they were all budding film stars.......one of the pictures of the corfen is in the library on site it is a real mucky ducky ....but i dont know how to put it on site .......my kids and grandkids look on in horror when i showed it to them.....regards cappy.. ps someone may kindly put the corfen on site ...she looks really grisly
