Re: Cunards Britannia Model Presented To Liverpool.
Hi Jim, I know Cunard have long history with Liverpool, and a long history with the River Clyde.
As the model and the ship were made in Greenock, the model in my humble opinion should have gone to Greenock.

Re: Cunards Britannia Model Presented To Liverpool.
Hi Vic
I don't think there is much in Greenock at the moment, relating to Cunard, I was up there last year and all the ship yards have gone.
So as the Britannia sailed from Liverpool and the Cunard Building is there I guess its as good a place as any.
Not much of a Cunard office in Southampton either. It is all mixed up with Carnival and all the other companies under that banner.,
In the Next Building , the Liver Buildings, is a Builders model of the Empress of France on the First floor over the main entrance,.
She was built on the Clyde but Liverpool was its Home port. The Liver Building was also the headquarters of the Canadian Pacific Steamships.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: Cunards Britannia Model Presented To Liverpool.
Hi Brian,
Agree there is not much in Greenock, but it does have an excellent museum (The Mclean), which has ship models presented by the yards and the builders to the Museum.
Britannia would have complemented the existing models.

Vic
