see two container ships have collided in the suez canal ....it states that six containers went over the wall ....the authorities are sekking to find them ......if its anything like 50 odd years ago the bumboat men will have found them and had them away in about 5 minutes ....thieving gits.....regards cappy

GCaptain has a video of the actual event.
Speculation is that the overtaking ships rudder failed and went hard a port when port rudder was applied to bring the overtaking ship back to mid channel once it was getting past the ship being overtaken, but to me it looks like a classic case of interaction between two ships. If the overtaking ship had a beckar or high lift rudder that too may have been a contributing factor as applying too much helm with these rudders over a certain speed can result in a complete loss of steerage.
