ship in trouble
updated. the MSC monterey, with a full load of containers, crew and 4 passengers, has a crack in it's hull. experiencing problems in a storm off newfoundland.
passengers have now been coptered off. ship heading for calmer waters, being monitered by canadian forces and dept of transport.

Ship now reported at anchor, saw photos looks a little bit hogged to me, but most of these large container ships do anyway

Crack was discovered by ships crew just fwd. of the accommodation, on the main deck. It was about 1.5 metres long and 10 cm wide.
Ship aborted its voyage to Boston to head for calmer waters. It is now anchored in Newfoundland and the crack has reached to side shell. Class and repairmen are on there way to see about patching her up in order that she can continue to Boston where after discharge permanent repairs will be made.
