Lawson speaks out on Europe

There is obviously something going on in the west. In Queens speech a reference to putting some form of curb on the imigration numbers. Here in Oz our less than Honorable PM made a statement about illegals no longer getting paymenst nad if they do not like it go back to where you came from.
But I digress, as we often do on this site. There is one way the EU could survive and do well, though maybe not good for Uk and out of it may be the answer.
For the EU to work as originaly planed it requires all countries to give up their rights as countries and become states of a new country called EU Land. Much as is the case with USA, all states would then work for the good of the country and not just for what is in it for them. Currentlt countries such as Turkey, who have nothing to give, will be at the trough fed by the likes of UK. Where is the profit in thta for UK?
The next cuntury will be the Asian one and yes UK if it went about it in the right manner could benifit from that. But they need to get in early if they hope to make something of it.

I am not a political animal and never trod the path of any party as did not have enough knowledge of the whys and wherefores. As most I would assume on this site had a normal council education and a background of watching how your elders performed. However most of our elders belonged to the forehead knuckling society of that era. Great Britain has for the past few hundred years been run by a so called aristocracy of well heeled and private educated people. Unfortuanetly for them the common rank and file are now nearly as well educated as them and in most cases appear to have more common sense. The so called D....heads who called themselves Labour or socialists, wouldn't know the meaning of the word and the so called other parties at times make me cringe with their condensensing platitudes. I think it is about time for the nation to get rid of some of these parasites and try a total new party with different ideas on how the country should be run. If we had something else here in Australia I would certainly give it a go, instead will have to vote for the other party and hope they can get us out of the mess that the present incumbents are going to leave the country in, when they hopefully are tossed out on their ear. Following the comments of Nigel Lawson and other prominent Tories, today's paper reports that Boris Johnson (London's Lord Mayor) has joined the surge of opinion in favour of Britain's detachment from the EU. Love him or loathe him, Johnson is a prominent figure who many regard as a 'progressive'. The anti-EU faction will welcome his public declaration with open arms. Add these expressions of concern to the recent election results showing rising support for the UKIP plus the loss of popularity within his own party and suddenly Mr. Cameron's vision for Britain's future in the EU is looking less likely of reaching fruition. Circumstances beyond his control may dictate that he will no longer enjoy the luxury of the four-year 'buffer' he created for himself when agreeing to a 2017 referendum on Britain's future in the EU. Public opinion in Britain may demand he act much sooner than he would wish. Personally, I think his hopes of gaining a better deal for Britain within the EU have little chance of success, otherwise the self-interest of Germany, France and other member nations would see them seek similar dispensations, all of which might, so easily, bring down the whole shebang, collapsing like a pack of cards. Some time back, on a similar thread, some members offered the opinion that Britain was rusted fast to the EU and would never be able to break free. In light of what is occurring in Britain, I wonder if they still hold that view?

I think the Ace card in the "better Deal " pack is the Germans are hacked off with teh Southern Europeans they are bailing out , and I can see Merkel as a Cameron supporter , on the grounds that she may want a renegotiation too .

The most honest crews in the MN were those on the 'Bovril Boats' on the Thames, no one ever broached the cargo!!

What ever the Bar staff on Union Castle did was up to their own conscience , but what I did not like was the beer in the " Pig " was the most watered of all the beer , Leading hands bar was 100% Beer , off its own tank , tourist was around 6/1 but the pig was 5/1 or less . Robbing the punters i thought was possibly fair game as we got 30% off , but robbing the guys in the pig , I never thought was moral . I refer only to UCL mail service ships , and assume it was not common practice across teh Industry .

It is interesting to me that no one on this site when discussing the EU seems to have raised the shocking overpay, amazing conditions etc that all ALL employees of the EU are being paid. Worse, that does not include the 'consultants' who do even better, but it does include the young assistants. We know one or two working within the EU some very high up, their packages, expenses, are gross even they say so. We also know a couple of children of friends who have over the last couple of years got internist's positions which morphed into full time jobs where they are paid insane money, rent travel & other living expenses.
Might add this applies to those wonderful organisations such as UN & all its various guises, the World Bank, IMF etc. There is a fellow I believe I have mentioned it previously amongst others. He God bless him is a 'Philosophy' professor (what on earth pray (prey) tell has that got to do with anything the UN does?) with a consort with no real qualifications, yet they keep getting these amazing well paid consultancy with benefits to make you weep, it is mind boggling. Sad thing is those parasites & their like are actually proud of it, boast almost in fact of their situations, see no irony in their having such positions.
The EU, EU Parliament, UN et al are just huge troughs that so many... have their snouts it has been so for decades. That is what needs exposing, that is what needs cleaning up, that is where so much wastage is but no one seems to do anything about it. Why kill the golden goose after all? To top it all off they have scintillating pensions-retirement entitlements for life, even after a short time in their positions.
Yes am sure there are indeed some genuine people within these organisations but what percentage?

The daughter of a friend, was a Union Delegate in a major British Company. she has been promoted to Brussels.
She works there FIVE DAYS a MONTH, for £2,500, Plus First Class Air Flights, Hotels and many other expenses.
She laughs about what an easy job she has.
I dont laugh, I pay taxes to help with the costs.
