Default I proved Stephen Fry wrong

A recent question on QI (a excellent quiz program hosted by Stephen Fry) posed the question as to how far you can carry a full cup without spilling any. According to the Fry the answer is 10 paces as scientiests have discovered that your natural walking rythm, even when concentrating, will after 10 paces have set up a motion that will cause the contents of the cup to move in harmony with your rythm and hence overflow from the cup.
WELL I HAVE JUST DISPROVED FRY AND THE SCIENTISTS AS I HAVE JUST CARRIED TWO FULL CUPS OF TEA FOR 24 PACES AND NOT SPILT A DROP....SO THERE.
In the same vien could my success not be down to years spent at sea having to constantly adjust your standing to counteract the movement of the ship and following on from that when scientist insist in looking at the human being for any and all weird reason, do they ever consider using the seaman as the human to study to get a proper base line reading or to use them as the placebo in test cases.
Just a thought (like those odd ones that popped into your head on the 12-4 watch on long ocean passages).

Well done John, you seem to have the ability to carry full cups down to a tea

I can barely manage one cup of tea without spilling it. I can however carry two Pints of beer without spilling a drop. Beer of course is more expensive than tea.

Does anyone remember whilst training at Gravesend we had to carry three cups and saucers two in one hand and one in the other,It was like doing afternoon tea on a cargo boat.Along an alleyway down the staircase back up and back into the classroom, the thing was if you dropped any of the crockery it went on your bill on leaving.Happy Days!!!!

And far better tasting. I had a cup of tea way back in 1961, threw up and never touched the stuff since.

Only drink coffee, and as I was once asked how do you like your coffee.

You were lucky Jim. If I recall all we had at the Vindi was white china mugs.
