Maritime News
Just an interesting couple of snippets
Indonesia has signed a contract with China to purchase 2500 (that's right 2500) Coastal and short sea vessels to service its 17000 Islands. Deliveries will start in 2013 and be completed by end of 2018.
China of course will no doubt supply technical support and further its influence in that part of the world, no need for an invasion, as usual China does it by stealth (Italics are mine)
SUEZ CANAL is now under curfew and all shipping husbandry services have been suspended at both ends of the Canal. So far no transits have been affected.
Will we see another Suez invasion if these riots keep going and transits are threatened.

. Hi Ivan, China now controls most of Africa, it has taken over our old Colonies and is taking out all the mineral weath out of there. Including Uranium , all kinds of Ore, Diamonds, Gold , Oil, etc.
Last year in Zambia the Chinese guards at one mine executed 11 miners for going on strike,
Not a peep out of our Gov.
Cheers
Brian.

Hi Ivan.
We''ll keep our fingers crossed that they will use them to keep the boat people heading for Aus at bay.

Des mate I fear these will be used to bring more into Oz. But yes the Chinese are getting into all manner of things. In Indonesia it is not possible for you to own anything unless you are an Indonesian or married to one. Yet over half the hotels there are owned by the Chinese. One law for them, another for the rest of us. Here in Sunbury we had a large new housing estate built afew years ago, half is owned by Chinese who were brought in by the developer to purchase and then rent them out.

Happy daze John in Oz.

There are a lot of people from here in Oz who go to Philipines and Thailand for medical teatment. Claim it is cheaper than here in Oz as a private patient and they are very good at corrective surgery according to people who have had it done. Clean and very modern but as one lady said you see very few of the locals in there.

That must have been a particularly scary experience especially so soon after arriving in your new home Tony. Very glad to see that you obviously recovered well and once again enjoying all that Cebu has to offer. Good for you my friend.

Appreciate your kind wishes, i was in a pretty low state befor i arrived here, living alone in the UK, A lso the long journey here, to a strange Country, disposing of all i owned except my laptop, do miss my car, even after knowing Annie over 2 years and talking most days on Skype it was a bit scary to meet for real the first time, the last leg of the journey from Hong Kong to Cebu i was getting real nervous, , then we landed in Cebu got my Luggage and saw Annie for real, Wow ! could not believe how amazing she was, got a Taxi to our house, after that i felt calm and at ease with her, never looked back since, never been looked after so well in my life, if i make tea i get told off, Annie never stops working, house is so clean, should have come here a long time ago, Girls are so good to there Partners, especially if you are European, its there dream to have European or American, Our New Bungalow is so nice, Annie so Houseproud, have known many girls in my lifetime, but never one as nice a Annie, Annie lived in one room, shared with her sister and 3 children when i first talk to her on line, room was about 12x12 feet, all live, eat, sleep and wash there, but allways so clean, only one thing here you have to watch, all the family members, aunts, uncles , cousins ect come asking for financial help, so you have to put your foot down at the start, Only one who has not is the sister she was living with, she is like Annie, really nice, so i help her, but she never ask or expect, and allways so grateful, tomorrow i take them all to Chow King, a Chinese version of Macdonalds, they cannot afford to go there, the poverty here is bad, when you see the looks and excitement on there faces just to do something as simple as that its all worthwhile. everyone talks to you here, all so polite, and the service from the big stores is like no other, hope soon to get a car ,if not i buy a bicycle rickshaw, Annie can do the peddaling ! best wishes to all. Tony W.
