m.v. CAPE ARAGO ( O.N. 242864) cargo ship of 5,154 gross tons built 4/43 by Pennsylvania Yard Beaumont,Texas-.Type .C1-A Liberty-design ship. For U.S. Govmt.
　
43 renamed GENERAL RUGE -one of the ships added to Nortraship's Fleet (Norwegian Govmt.on bareboat charter from the War Shipping Administration.)
1946 Sold to Fred Olsen(Norway) renamed BELGRANO
1961 -Sold to another Norwegian owner ,G.T.Strom and renamed STROM GUNHILD - 67 Sold to Phillippine owners (Carlos A.Gothong & Co) of Cebu ) and renamed ILIGAN BAY
1969 Change of Owners to Universal Shipping Lines Inc,Cebu,
1971 -Missing - last report 120nm NNE Cape Villano 24.1.71 )with leaks due to heavy weather, when on a voyage from Antwerp to Manila with a general cargo that included chemicals. All 39 Crew lost.
