    Default Room 102

Right ho me hearties here we go. I started room 101 for postings of thinks you hate so as Isaac Newton states "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction", heres a place where you can put all those things you love and again not necessrily maritime thingy's
    1. Family, obviously
    2. Sausages, especially those from Pickings in East Bolden
    3. Pirates of the Caribbean, great escapism
    4. Ice Cold Gin and Tonic, especially on a balmy tropical night on the focsle head.
    4. John Smiths at £1.80 in the Pier, Ocean Road.
5.Ship handling, especially when you have to take over from the Pilot who is cocking it up.
    6. Peacefull nights at sea when all you can hear is the music of a well oiled main engine thumping away down below.
    7. Nights on the bridge in the tropics just chewing the fat with your mates.
    8. Manchester United (put that in just to stir things up)
    9. Sunday Roast Dinners, especially if you do not have to cook it.
    10. Morning and evening star sights that work out spot on and prove that the GPS is not lying.

Thats all for my first quick batch, have plenty more to add later

well as getting older, values change, first and foremost my love of ships and the sea, talking to ex seaman about experiences, small boats especially motor, sea fishing, like to see far off places, not tourist traps, but the real people, watching tropical sunrise and sunsets, fresh cut grass, smell of bacon and eggs, mangos, and home made rice pudding, love to watch rough sea breaking on the shore, my new home in cebu is close to a market, so i will spend hours sitting outside drinking tea watching the world go by, miss the excitement of a new ship and new ports, history of WW2 merchant ships.

Watching a container ship sailing away and wondering where it will end up.
    Surf crashing onto the beach.
Summer on the beach, particularly the beaches that allow alternative dressing.
Tropical rain beating down after the drought.
Cockatoos flying overhead squawking as they go.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.

Had thread room 102 where you could post your likes but have just discovered it is closed. Unfortunatley I was posting on Room 101 some more pet hates and in that thread I referred to thread room 102, so I've put bthis thread up instead.
    1. The smell of new mown grass (referred to by Tony in room 102) Means summer is on its way and those dreary damp and cold winter days are behind us.
    2. Snuggling up in the lee of bum island after a hard days work with newly laundered bed linen on the bed.

Surely that is self explanatory Keith, if not then you are missing something. In the lee of bum island you will find safe anchorage for your man o'war in a oblong bay surrounded by lush vegatation, sometimes the vegatation is black, sometimes blond and occasionaly ginger, even grey has been acceptable at times, but you know the grey vegatation hides a safe anchorage that has been used safely many times and given succour to those seeking refuge, due north of the oblong bay are two large mounds known as the land of milk and honey, these can be used as anchorages for your hands or mouth, or in most cases both.

What you do next is up to you but most use a lot of manouvering until such time the man o'war has gone aground inside where it can lay comfortably for some hours before needing to exit to replenish supplies of whatever makes it work. Hope that helps.
