Birthday Greetings
hi guys and gall,s,
just found out how to make a post,i hope.it was my birthday on the 11th of december.69 years where did it all go. her indoors took me on a trip on p&o ferries over to zeebruge on the Pride of York.it was great, but being ex deck croud i would have liked to get on the bridge for a while.

anyway it was a good trip with a good bit of heavy weather 8 to 9 out 9 to 10 homewards from the south west but they are big ferries and it was quite comfortable, also got a bit of baccky for my mate and i.that was wed to fri.
on sunday,my birthday my family took me out to the pub for a meal and a few pints, great.never got offered a rum tho.
i was ill for a couple of months early in the year.i knew what wes wrong with me but the ( experts ) would not listen to me,what did i know.i tryed to tell them it was ulsers, haveing had ulsers 20 years ago,and asked for Taganet or Cimitadine but no........because of age they looked for something more nasty.after full body scans,x rays, blood tests by the gallon, cameras up my rear and down my throat, guess what? yer, ulsers!!!given cimitadine, three days,sorted....said to my doc,i told you so.he said he was worried about me and wanted to check out evrything.it dont matter about me with camera up my ass!!!!
anyway as on who lives and works in Al khobar, soudi said,at least you had a great M.O.T.
ALL THE BEST FOR CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL....
HOPE I CAN GET THIS OUT,

Happy Birthday Tom, I wish I was 69 again,
I was in that Hospital in Al Khobar in Saudi, I had my leg crushed on Sea Island and they wanted to amputate the leg. I got out of there fast with a brush as a crutch. Got the Agent to fly me home same day and had it fixed over here in nine minths then back to sea. without a peg leg.
I asked the Doc there for some morphine for the pain, he said `No`. then he proceeded to push the splintered bones back into position, I was shouting, he says , `Whats the matter for you, you big tough guy American.` I then had to scream in an Amercan accent, so he wouldnt think the English were soft.
Happy days.

thanks again
hi brian and alf,
just been out on the electric scooter to the shop for a few bits, its articulating out there.indoors now with the heating on.alf, the rail crossing on the main road is still there at lincoln, still causeing havoc during rush hour but a flyover is in the process of being built if it survives all these cuts that are going on.............
brian,my son has been out there in al khobar for over 2 years now,he loves it.he is a top engineer for a british-german firm in charge of all contracts.on a wage with all the extras that go with it.makes my pension
look sick but you choose your path...
i had a accident while at sea,i was onone of freds yellow perils, the SELECTIVITY,in plymouth.moveing bearth from cattdown wharfe up the creek in 1960.being a young keen O,S.and full of it i leapt to put up the whistle string on the mainmast.the string had no lanyard on,so climbing the mast one handed holding the string out in the other i nissed the rung...toot..toot,,flat on my back, heels slamed on the deck and broke a bone in my right foot.the second mate got to me with his knife out to cut my brand new flying boot off.i said dont cut it,he said,it will hurt to pull it off....i said it will hurt more if you cut it off, pull the effin thing.....
everards did me o.k.getting me home in plaster.6 weeks later, being fed up at home,i phoned everards, cut off my plaster myself and signed on the SUPREMITY at goole.had a few more near misses in my time.
all the best.
