Dredgers
Hi, does anyone know what became of these two dredgers, ? When i was a boy one named Prittlewell operated at southend on sea, then untill quite recently one named Ramsgate operated in the harbour they were quite similar designs. Tony wilding

Dredgers......
Hi Tony,I can only give you what Miramar Ship Index says:-
PRITTLEWELL (Grab Hopper Dredger )160 grt built 1940 by Lobnitz of Renfrew,Scotland.Was renamed ESSEX LADY in 1971 and GYPSY RACE in 1985,but no info given as to owners or if still extant.
RAMSGATE(1st) Dredger 220 grt built 1936. By Goole SB .No info as to owners or subsequent fate.
RAMSGATE (2nd) Grab Hopper Dredger built by Yarwoods of Northwich,Cheshire. 1962 and of 168 grt..No further info.
Maybe someone else will know of another source of information.
