Manchester Liners.
Hello Mick,
I sailed in Manchester Liners off and on from 1956 until 1965. The name Brian Kendrick rings a bell but I cannot put a face to him.
I was AB on there and sailed in the Progress, Regiment, Port, City, Vanguard, Faith and Fame. A good company and some nice runs in the winter to Canary Islands and down the Mediterranean. I enjoyed the Lakes run as well and my favourite port was Montreal. Mind you the winter wasn't all that good especially on deck.
I have put a photo up of the Manchester Vanguard stuck in the ice not far from Montreal in December 1958. We should have been home for Christmas but it was February before we made it.
All the best...........Alec.

Still cannot place him Mick but I knew a couple of guys who worked the trains from Manchester to London. Dick and Keith were their names but cannot remember their second names. Dick used to be with Manchester Liners in the 60's before going on the trains. They lived in Higher Openshaw.
