Does anyone watch the TV programme Bargain Hunt? I enjoy it but today I had to smile.
There was an item one of the teams bought. It was supposed to be a life bouy with a mirror fitted. Around the ring was Titanic 19 12 London. A piece of junk. The so called expert did explain if it was an original Life Bouy from the Titanic it would have cost £thousands , fair enough.Think they paid £6. Anyway when it was being valued again the auction room expert and he put an estimate off £5 to £10. Reason he marked it down was because the Titanic never sailed from London, well he got that bit right. Clearly missed the significance re London. I would have been impressed if he had got the Liverpool that should have been on the ring.
