There has been mention of so called hard men in these posts and I said there is no such thing unless they are made of concrete. The term hard men refers to there inability to reform and move along with the times. Just remember a handful of terrorists in Ireland kept 25,000 troops and the second largest police force in the UK tied up for 30+years and at the drop of a hat they could do it again. Everyone is missing the point. This coalition with the DUP will not end well.

Marian, John Major was also part of drafting the GFA. If Tony Blair was to blame for everything in this country why was it the British electorate kept on voting him and his Labour party back into power from 1997/2007/2010 with Brown as PM. Perhaps when the IRA hit the Financial sector of the city of London again 1993 & 1996 Blair & Co came under pressure to get a peace agreement, money talks& and terrorists walk!!!!! Simple Lewis, John Major was pretty weak as PM that's why T.Bliar got in. A fair old percentage of Labour supporters in hindsight now regret voting for him. As for your theory on money talks well of course it does especially Tony, he always strives for siller and the fame in his pocket. Marian, if John Major was weak he certainly pulled the rug from under labour in 1992 and snuffed out the fires of the Welsh Dragon Kinnock, who by the way I never had any time for him or his Mrs. If you think Blair lined his pockets those two did not do so bad either. A fair old percentage of Labour supporters in hindsight now regret voting for him?? as in this recent election with the Theresa May losing a lot of her seats and putting the country on the road to nowhere.

To be honest I would have thought that a sprinkler system would have a been a standard thing to have fitted in any tower block, not in the actual flats but at least in the public spaces such as hallway and stairwells so at least to give folk a fighting chance to get out in the event of a fire.
